Personally I love these moments alone with the bride before the cars arrive, while everyone else is running around, organising the final details before the church bells chime. Whenever I am booked to photograph a wedding, I will always suggest I arrive early to capture those special images when the bride 'gets ready'.
These are wonderful opportunities to tell the story of the day, from the beginning. I always like to photograph the bride during hair and make-up, take some imaginative shots of the dress, shoes and accessories etc.
But most of all to capture that special moment the bride is ready, the moment she becomes elegantly exquisite, the time when she will make everyone shed a joyful tear and give a lump in the throat....and I get to see that look through my lens for the very first time. So special!
