Frequestly Asked Questions to a wedding photographer
Ok, planning a wedding and choosing your photographer can be daunting but let's hope I can answer some questions you might have regarding your wedding photography.
How far in advance can we book you as our wedding photographer?
I normally take bookings 12 months in advance. A general advice will be to arrange a meeting and book as soon as possible. Most photographers operate on first came first served basis, and I am not an exception. Once the retainer is paid and the contract is signed, the date is gone.
How far would you travel for a wedding?
I am not one of those wedding photographers covering all UK - I believe there is always an excellent wedding photographer local to you who can provide a more personal service. My favourite area is Shropshire, but I can travel comfortably around West Midlands at no extra travel charge. I love meeting the couple before we even consider signing the contract to see if we are indeed a good match.
How many images will we receive?
And that is a wrong question... It depends on too many things, number of quests, hours of coverage, how much is going on during your wedding day... But rest assured that you will get the absolutely best, hand edited images that you can cherish forever.
How long before we receive our wedding photos?
I strive to deliver your full wedding gallery within 3 weeks. I am incredibly impatient myself and cannot make anyone wait longer than this! It is longer for albums and prints though, because I need you to choose the wedding images you'd like to print and to go into your wedding album.
What if you have never photographed a wedding at my chosen venue before?
Generally speaking it shouldn't matter. Scouting in advance for photographic opportunities on your wedding day does not make much sense as everything will depend on the light on the day itself. However we can always arange a visit to your chosen wedding venue together and do a pre-wedding photoshoot.
Do you offer any discounts for out of season weddings?
To be absolutely honest I don't. I work just as hard and all the wedding albums and prints cost me as much as any time of the year. Plus most of the time weddings taking place in winter, autumn or early spring are a bit more challenging as the light is much more restricted and it gets darker so much earlier.
However, there are some beautiful wedding venues in Shropshire that I love photographing at. If you are getting married at one of them, please do get in touch and we will work around your budget.
